PEPPA

Part: 2
Opening my eyes, I looked around the room. A bunk bed was on my right and a treasure toy box was to my left. Studying the room, an odd sense of familiarity came over me. Getting off of the floor, I crept closer towards the window. Woah! I thought, staring up at the full moon that loomed before me. It was so close that I swear I could touch it. I know swearing is bad, but I swear I could. “George?”
Practically jumping out of my skin, I turned to face the person that spoke. No way! I thought No way! No way! No Way! Stumbling backwards, I fell onto my butt. The smell of rotting bacon wafted up my nose, making me gag. Covering my nose, I crawled away from her as she stumbled closer to me.
Glowing ruby orbs stared desperately into mines, as if searching for something, “George?” She repeated.
Gasping as she came into full view, provided by the spotlight of the moon, I almost peed myself. She was bloated and rotting, her pink skin a sickly gray while some parts of her skin was missing, exposing the rotting meat underneath. I gagged again, tears stinging my eyes. I don’t want to be here! I want to go back! I cried desperately in my head, unable to speak the words a loud.
“It is you!” She smiled. “We’ve been searching all over for you!” The ground beneath me rumbled as she dashed towards me.
“No!” I shouted, my voice finally coming through the lump in my throat. “Stay back! Stay away! I’m not George!” I rolled out of her reach and in one swift motion, I flew to my feet and made a break for the door.
“Don’t say that! You are and you will always be!” Peppa shouted behind me. “Mummy! Daddy!” Peppa shouted out to them. I skidded to a stop, my path no longer clear but blocked by two larger bloated and decaying pigs.
“George!” Father and mother pig shouted, their twisted smiles stretching from ear to ear. “Come to Mummy and Daddy.”
“No!” I sobbed, frantically searching for an opening. They inched closer, spewing out reassurance that they weren’t going to hurt me, but I knew better. Looking down, I figured I could slide through that Daddy pigs legs. Swallowing hard, I rushed at him and he opened his arms wide, as if ready to receive what he must have assumed was a hug. Tricking him, I fell to the floor and slid perfectly through his legs and without missing a beat, I got up and dashed out the door. Flying down the hallway and then down the stairs, I ran straight for the front door. Realizing that my smallness was both a blessing and a curse as I desperately jumped, trying to reach the door handle.
“Come back George!” I heard the family of bloated pigs shouting behind me. Without a second to spare, I turned and dashed towards the kitchen. Grabbing a close by chair and sliding it across the floor, I propped it up against the sink counter. Climbing up and into the sink, I placed my hands onto the window in front of me. As I pushed upwards with all my might, I realized it was locked. Quickly unlocking it, I pushed upwards again, but lost my footing as the world quaked beneath me. With the sound of footsteps pounding down the stairs, my heart leapt into my throat. Hopping down, I made a break for the living room. Pausing for a second before my eyes rested on the couch, I heaved a sigh of relief, there was a big enough gap for me to fit under. The footsteps landed onto the floor, letting me know I only had a few seconds to spare. Bolting towards the couch, I flew down, letting myself slide across the floor and to crawl the rest of the way under the couch, making it just in time as Peppa made her way into the living room.
“Come out… come out wherever you are!” Peppa yelled.
“This is no time to play hide-and-seek Georgy.” Mum pig shouted.
“I think he went out the window.” I heard Peppa say. I nodded in hopes that they would all agree and go outside.
“No…” Daddy pig corrected. “The window isn’t open wide enough, he couldn’t have gotten out.” The hope I had shattered. When did Daddy pig think so smartly?
“Hmm…” Peppa pig began. Watching as her feet left my view, the squeeze upon my heart gave just a little, until two glowing orbs replaced my vision, allowing something warm to dribble down my leg. “Peek-a-boo… I found you.” She smiled a rotting toothy grin, which fueled my future nightmares to come. My eyes stung and my body shook as I tried to push myself further away, but the wall behind me kept me from doing just that. I just want to go back! I cried desperately in my head. I miss mom and dad and my massages, my teddy, my bed and the warmth. A large decaying hand wrapped around the couch and brought me back to reality. Daddy pig had fully lifted the couch up, exposing me.
Desperately wanting to escape, my body moved before I could even realize it. Fiercely crawling from beneath the couch, through his legs and back into the kitchen, I found myself in the sink, already lifting the window.
“Quickly, Mummy!” Peppa shouted.
That was all I needed to push myself out of the window. Bracing for impact, I closed my eyes and put my arms up to break my fall. When nothing happened, I opened my eyes and furrowed my brows. The grass was near inches from my face and yet I hadn’t hit it. Am I flying?
“Ahhhh!”
I screamed, realizing why I was flying. I kicked and punched, trying to break free from its grasp. The ground grew further away as I was dragged back inside, I gripped onto the edge of the window, but my strength was no match against something much bigger than me.

PEPPA
Part 1
Staring at the screen, I smiled with joy as mom tuned into my favorite show, Peppa pig. “Get some sleep, no staying up too late or tv goes off.” I nodded my head, not really paying attention to what she was saying, since I was bobbing my head around her body to see my show. Mom chuckled and kissed my cheeks. Reaching out, she combed through my hair with her fingers, giving me a wonderful massage. “Mommy loves you.” She smiled.
Returning her smile “Love you too.” I repeated back. She turned on my nightty light and then got up, disappearing out of my room while leaving my door cracked as she did. Yawning, I stretched and relaxed onto the bed. The tv kept fading in and out, but I shook myself awake, unwilling to look away.
New Peppa Pig episode… starts now!
Ripped from my sleep, I peered up at the screen. New episode? I thought. I know I’ve seen all the Peppa episodes and that there were no more new ones, since I was on… what did mommy call it?… Philo? Scratching my head, whatever it was, I was fully awake now and staring at the title on the screen. “G…Ge..or…ge… G…goes… Mis…Mis…” I furrowed my eyebrows, trying to sound it out, but the title disappeared too quickly. With a huff, I crossed my arms, hating that I couldn’t finish.
A familiar deep British voice came, on a thing mommy called ‘narrador‘… Whatever that was. George Goes Missing. The voice said and then the camera panned to Peppa, who could be seen walking around the house, looking for George. She looked frustrated and upset and was looking under and in everything she could possibly think of, before going to look for him outside. Her expression of anger and irritation turned to desperation and fear. She walked frantically around the neighborhood calling for George.
Suzy then appeared in front of her with a curious glint in her eyes “Hi Peppa.” Suzy waved “What are you doing?” She asked in her British accent.
Peppa looked at her with a very heart wrenching look, that shocked me. My eyes teared up as I watch on as Peppa’s eyes watered and spilled over. “George…” she sobbed. “I~I can’t find George!” She fell to her knees sobbing, while wiping at her eyes. “I was suppose to look after him, mummy and daddy are going to be so mad at me!” She sobbed harder. I could feel her sorrow so much so, that I too, began to cry.
“There… there… Don’t worry, we will find him.” Suzy patted her back. “Let’s do what my mum always told me to do.”
“Oh yeah…” Peppa looked up at Suzy hopefully. “And what is that Suzy?”
“Let’s backtrack.”
“Backtack?”
“Backtrack…” Suzy corrected. “… and I’m not sure…” Suzy said with a frown. “But I suppose It is something you do when going backwards?”
“Suzy!” Peppa shouted in frustration, causing Suzy to wince.
“Okay… ” Suzy put a finger to her mouth trying to think. “Oh!” She said pointing her finger upwards to the sky. “I think we must first figure out what it was that you were doing when George first went missing.”
Peppa paused to think. “Oh!” She said a memory coming to mind. “We were playing hide-and-seek in the back garden.” Peppa responded through sobs.
“Let’s go there and look through the bushes and trees, he probably fell asleep hiding.”
Peppa nodded and got up, taking Suzy’s hand as they walked back to Peppa’s house. “George! George where are you?!” Peppa shouted, her face getting red. “This isn’t funny!”
“They continued searching high and low and yet no George.” The ‘narrador’ said. “Oh dear! Where could George have possibly gone?”
Peppa stopped and fell to the ground crying. Suzy hugged her and tried to comfort her, when Mummy and Daddy pig popped onto the screen. Immediately Peppa got up and hid behind Suzy, shaking.
“Goodness!” The mother pig gasped, “Why are you crying Peppa? What’s wrong?”
“Umm…” Peppa stuttered, her eyes going everywhere at once.
“Suzy?” The daddy pig directed his attention towards her, who also began shaking. “Suzy or Peppa, what is going on?” He looked around the back garden. “And where is George?”
I leaned in close, my heart pounding. Is Peppa going to get in trouble? I thought, my mind racing.
“G…George…is…” Peppa began.
“Is what Peppa?!” Daddy pig shouted, his face going red along with mommy pig.
She gulped “He…He’s missing!” She cried while falling to her knees.
“Oh Dear!” Mommy pig put her hand to her head, fainting as daddy pig caught her mid-fall.
“To where?” Daddy pig asked. And then everything went silent. Peppa stopped sobbing and mommy pig opened her eyes. I leaned closer towards the screen, in anticipation of what was to come next, then I froze. My heart leaped into my throat as their eyes locked onto mines and then the screen went blank.
“No!” I whisper shouted. Sliding off the bed, I rushed over towards the television. Reaching my hand out to slap the television like I had seen the adults do, I stopped mid swing. The television looked really weird, the white and black fuzzies inside the screen crackled and popped out. “Whoah!” I said aloud. Curious, I reached out to touch it. The fuzzies tickled my hand the further I reached inside, making me giggle. It felt weird but it also felt like mum’s massages, which was very relaxing, that was until something grabbed my arm. I grabbed at the tv, trying to pull my arm back but it was way too strong.
-
Phenomenon
“Taquerias!” My sister shouted. I swiveled around to face her, smiling as I smashed some icing into her face while dodging her hand full of icing that was directed towards mines.
“You thought!” I belted out a laughter, which died as my world went dark as icing covered my vision.
“I always have a back up.” She laughed, then smothered more of the icing onto my face from the hand I had dodged previously.
Wiping it off, I frowned, watching as my mom ran away with my sister, chuckling like the cheaters they were. “Cheaters!” I shouted towards them while licking the icing off of my hands. I smiled in delight at the taste of cookie dough. My favorite. I thought. Walking towards the men’s restroom, I cleaned myself up before joining everyone back into the lobby.
Sitting down next to my sister in our makeshift birthday thrown’s, a slice of cake and cheese pizza was ready and waiting for us. I smiled and gobbled them up. Soon after we all played in the jungle gym, until it was sadly time to go. Saying goodbye to my friends, I took my moms hand and followed her out into the car with a bunch of gifts. We all piled in and made our way home.
I yawned and leaned back into the seat, with nothing better to do, I looked up into the starry skies above. Tilting my head and squinting my eyes, I saw something flying… no… swimming across the sky. Taken aback, I blinked and rubbed my eyes, unsure of what I was seeing. “Aquaria!” I shouted to my sister, reaching my arm out to shake her. She swatted my hand away and mumbled under her breath, half asleep. Tapping her again, knowing I had to show her no matter what. “Aquaria!”
“What!?” She shouted, annoyance lacing her words.
“Twins!…” My mom began. “…I know it’s y’alls birthday and I don’t want to have to lecture you, so please behave and don’t yell.”
“Sorry.” Aquaria responded while smacking my arm out of revenge.
I rubbed at it but I couldn’t dwell on it too much, because I didn’t want whatever it was to disappear. I pointed out the window “Look.”
She leaned over as far as the seatbelt would allow. “It better be goo…” Her words caught in her throat at what it was she was seeing, too stunned to speak. “W~what is that?”
“I~I don’t know.” I said staring up at the swimming thing that drew closer.
“M~mommy!” Aquaria and I shouted together. Her hand quickly snaked into mine and I reciprocated the feeling. We knew that something about that thing wasn’t right.
“Yes.” She said with a hint of annoyance.
“W~what’s that in the sky?” Aquaria asked, I knew she was hoping that mom had an answer like she always did.
“I’m sure it’s just the st…ars…” Mom said as she too stared up into the sky, her answer making Aquaria and I even more scared that she also didn’t know. “H~Honey…” Mom’s voice quivered. “A~Are you seeing this?”
“Yeah.” Dad answered. He pulled off to the side of the road and we all got out. Cars lined the highway as onlookers stared in absolute horror.
We all looked on as that thing inched closer. We held each other close but that didn’t stop my heart from falling to my toes, a fear I couldn’t explain. Assuming the others felt the same, when the sound of a whale, or dolphin… or whatever it was reverberated throughout the sky. It wasn’t high pitch but very, very deep, so deep it made the earth vibrate with it. That very sound sent a bone chilling terror crawling up my spine.

Shattered

The breeze danced across my face, carrying a salty taste. Breathing in the clean air, I sighed out in pleasure. My worry’s lifting off of my shoulders like a curse. A place where negative emotions couldn’t touch me and responsibilities were thrown to the wind. This was my safe place, a place I wish to never leave and dread when I must say goodbye. I want to stay here, but at last I could not.
“How do you feel?” My therapist asked, awakening me from my session. I pulled off my helmet and glared at her. But she smiled sweetly “That’ll be two-thousand dollars, would you like to pay cash or card?”
“Just put it on my tab.” I mumbled.
“Of course, but remember you Already owe us ten grand, after today you must pay it all in full if you want more sessions.”
I nodded and got up. Walking towards the hanger, I slid on my protective suit and mask before heading out of the room. Waving goodbye to the front desk, I headed outside and walked out into the barren red desert, making my way back to my pod. Pausing, I glanced up into the sky, frowning as I mourned our beloved earth, that decorated the sky with its shattered body.

Final
I said his name, which ended up putting the spotlight on me. Ignoring their curious gazes, I stared at Valmir. “Val~”
“Boy!” Cadis hissed out, cutting me off “Were you in on this too?” He looked over at Valmir. “I want you to torture and kill them both slowly!” Cadis ordered while pointing towards me and Angel.
“Shut Your Mouth!” Valmir seethed, sending a wave of uncomfortable silence and confusion as their eyes bounced between Valmir and I.
Combing my fingers through my hair in irritation of being silenced by Cadis, I clenched my jaw and cocked my head in there direction. Valmir Immediately went onto his knees, tucking his tail by his side and placing his left hand on his chest. “Wh-what’s happening?” Angel sputtered, looking at me with a questionable gaze.
I gave her, a reassuring smile before settling my eyes back onto the man behind her. “Valmir, you play too many games and have broken yet another rule.”
“Sire…” Valmir said, cowering beneath me.
“No worries Valmir.” Putting my hand up to stop him, while keeping my eyes locked onto Cadis. It amused me watching his well put composure faltering under my watchful eye. Behind his gaze, I could tell his impudent human brain was connecting the dots. “I owe this man.”
Cadis’s demeanor changed to something hopeful. “Exactly! You owe me and I-I promise to do better.” He bowed.
Peeling my eyes away from him and back to Angel’s “But a deal is a deal.” I mumbled out. An IOU was one thing but a contract was another and I’ve already done enough for that man.
“Wait…no!” Cadis pleaded “You owe me!” His eyes glanced frantically around the room before making his move towards an opening, but Valmir halted his plans.
“You see…” I said letting a bit of my Aura slip out. Valmir tried to keep his composure, but something as simple as that made the once great Demon, who was my fathers aid, quiver before me like a child. Pathetic really. Whimpers once again rang out, forgetting that this much of my power was a little too much for the mortal realm. I sucked it back in, keeping my eyes on the demon below me “…I am enjoying myself here.” I continued “I will let you take your prize as long as you keep what you saw here a secret. I do not wish to see my father, I ran away for a reason.”
“Sire, you know I cannot..”
“If father finds me…” I warned “…I will let him know of what transpired here. A demons training is just as cruel as a demons punishment…maybe even a little worse, if I suffer, we both suffer.”
“Noted your highness, I will not let a word of this escape my lips.” Valmir bowed his head.
“Great.” Lifting up my hand, all the whimpering ceased. All except Cadis. “I will take care of the humans memories.” I said appearing by Angels side before she could collapse to the floor. Peering down at her “You are too kind and righteous to have this on your conscience.” I gave her a small smile, this girl ignited something in me and I wanted to stick around find out why. “You may go.” I said to Valmir, who picked up a squirming and screaming Cadis. He nodded and opened up a portal by his feet before plummeting in. Cadis’s pitiful screams were quelled by the closing portal and at the same time, the fire around us diminished. Roaming my eyes around the room, I heaved out a breath of frustration. “What a nuisance.”

Part: 3
His eyes pierced hers, snickering at her statement “You should have been more specific little girl. Never mess with things you don’t understand.”
“You!” Cadis screeched at his daughter, revealing his location from behind the counter. “You-you did this?!” His voice going up an octave.
“Ah!” The demon snapped his neck in his direction “There you are.”
The demon’s wrist flew into the air. His hand snapped open and Cadis came flying, his neck landing perfectly into the claws of the demon, as he wrapped them around his throat. “Wait..” Cadis choked out “I’ll offer you more…” He gasped like a fish out of water, while desperately and unsuccessfully trying to pry the demons hand from his throat “P-plus my daughters soul if you work for me!”
What a spineless twat. I rolled my eyes.
The demon bellowed out a laugh. “You are just as disgusting as your daughter mentioned. You’d sacrifice your own to save your hide? But then again… she did the same to you… the apple really doesn’t fall too far from the tree.” He snorted “You humans sure are amusing.” Dropping Cadis to the floor, he cheekily looked up at his daughter with a triumphant glint shimmering in his eyes. Gathering himself from off of the floor, Cadis collectively fixed his suit and stood behind the demon like the spineless coward he was. But I wasn’t fooled, the fear never left his eyes. “What do you offer girl?”
“B-but our contract.” She stumbled backwards.
I let out a deep breath, seeing enough of his little games. “Valmir!”

Part: 2
“He saved me.” I said, thinking back to the night I had almost lost my life. “And I owe him a debt.”
“My father is a monster with serious connections!” She spat out “He knows how to trap people!…th~the Mayor!” She yelled, tossing her arms into the air in frustration. “…Heck, even the cops! he practically runs this whole town and he’d rather kill you before he ever lets you leave!” She clasped my hand. “You already paid your dues…” She said in a soft and pleading voice. “Please… you must go.”
Understanding her woes, my hand had a mind of its own, jutting out and touching her soft hair. I gave her what I hoped was a reassuring smile and patted her lightly a top her head. “Don’t worry, I~”
Ahhh!
Bloodcurdling screams shot through the alleyway and halted our conversation. My head snapped back towards the building in an immediate alarm. Attempting to rush over, only to be stopped by Angel who had her arms spread out wide in front of me. Her eyes beamed into mine, begging me to stay. “What did you do?” I asked, realization hitting me like a ton of bricks. She shook her head, with wide teary eyes. “What did you do?” She kept her mouth shut, refusing to answer. Pushing her aside, I flew towards the door and tugged at it but to no avail. Who locked it? No time to think! I said to myself and turned to rush out the alleyway.
“Don’t…” Angel implored, blocking me once again. Looking down and into those sapphire orbs that begged me to stay, I heaved a heavy sigh and pushed her out the way and dashed quickly down the alley. I rounded the corner to the front of the store, with Angel’s screams of desperation lost behind me. Closing the distance to the entrance, I slowed down and stared at the fire that blocked the way. Screams of horror leaked out from within the building and without a second thought, I reached out for the handle, the familiar heat of hellfire licked my palms like a dog welcoming its owner. Opening the door, I stepped inside, observing the view before me. The customers were huddled together in a corner, some were crying on their knees and begging, while others held each other, tears staining their flushed cheeks. A familiar figure stood in the center of this chaos, with a long pointed red tail, red horns that stuck out of his skull and long black hair that cascaded around him like molten lava.
“Bring me Cadis Lamere!” He growled “I’ll kill him first and I assure you all, that you will have a quick and painless death.”
“Wait!…” Angel screeched, rushing past me to face the demon. “B-but…you promised you’d only take my father.”

Part: 1
Slap!
The sound of skin hitting skin resounded in the air. “You useless piece of garbage!” My boss shouted, hurtling profanities at me. Ignoring the sting on my cheek, I repositioned my head, putting my focus back onto him. “I saved you kid…” he growled “…and don’t you forget that!” He lifted his finger, jabbing it into my chest.
The corners of my mouth twitched upwards at his irritation. “You’re slaps are just as pathetic as you are.”
A fire burned brightly behind his eyes as his hand snaked back up into the air. He pulled it back before going in full force and igniting an annoying sting across my face. I turned back towards him, my tolerance growing dimmer by the second. The look upon his face becoming angrier with my defiant glare, making him ready to strike again but this time turning his open hand into a raging fist. My eyes flickered towards his hand and a dangerous thought popped into my head but was immediately dissolved when two small arms slithered around his. “Sir!” The girl shouted at him “You need to calm down!” Fear was etched across her face and she made no attempt to hide it, but her soul was pure, she wouldn’t allow him to continue his banter. “I- it wasn’t his fault… it was mine.” His eye’s immediately locked onto hers and she took a shaky step back. Before things could go south, I jutted my arm out to block her from him.
“Don’t listen to her.” I said shaking my head “It was my fault and I’ll correct it as soon as possible.”
His icy blue eyes, bounced between us. His lips tightening into a thin line. “Fine!” He growled, giving in “But if it happens again…” he turned on his heels, letting his threat linger in the air as he disappeared behind his office door, letting it slam with a loud thud behind him.
“Why’d you take the fall?” Angel asked me.
Shrugging, I made my way to the back door and grabbed as much trash bags as my hands could carry. “Why do you even bother staying?” I asked, cocking my head in her direction, studying her expression.
“My father, is the only family I’ve got…” she paused to help grab the other two trash bags, before following me out the back door and into the alleyway. “… and until I’m eighteen…” she continued “…I’ve got nowhere else to go, I’m lucky to have a place to sleep and eat.” I nodded, listening to her ramble. Something dark danced behind those ocean blue eyes, for I could tell she said one thing but meant another. After disposing of my garbage, I grabbed the trash from out of her hands and tossed them over into the dumpster. Yawning, I slowly made my way back to the door, until she grabbed my arm. Confused by this, I turned to face her and raised a questionable eyebrow in her direction. A flash of desperation appeared upon her face, which didn’t make sense. “You know…” she began “You don’t owe him anything, you should leave.”

The Tukiter

Final
This was a monster of horror, of legends. Rooted to the spot I was in, transfixed by this monster, I watched as it slowly turned towards me. I had a weird feeling that I mustn’t be seen or something bad would happen. My mind raced, trying to figure out how to get out of this situation, but seeing that it was already too late, I could do nothing but close my eyes, anticipating my impending doom. ‘Am I really about to die?‘ I thought.
Ahh!
A scream pierced the serenity of the night, forcing my eyes to shoot open. The creature’s head snapped back towards the beach, it’s focus now on the man below him. From up here, the man’s horrified gaze could be seen as clear as day as he stared up at the creature that loomed above him. His legs gave way as he stumbled backwards onto his butt and we both stared in absolute horror when his cloak went stiff, defying nature itself.
The people around him knew they couldn’t help him, but instead took the opportunity to run away while the creature was distracted. They knew that if they stayed, they too, would suffer the same fate.
The poor guy tossed the sand furiously, trying to stop the creature from coming closer. Failing in his attempts, the thing grabbed him and yanked his soul out of his body like it was nothing. It placed collars on his neck, wrists and ankles, before putting his soul back into his body. My eyes went wide and my lips quivered, I turned swiftly on my heels and walked straight into the room. This is a dream… It’s not real! I thought to myself as I slid into bed and closed my eyes.

The Tukiter

Part: 1
The soft breeze of the wind blew gently through the beach and as the sun descended into melting gold, the crowd of beach dwellers slowly decrease more and more. Looking out at the vas ocean, I felt so much peace that I wish could go on forever. Tearing my gaze away from the window and with a yawn, I turned back towards the tv. As my friend and brother continued talking, I zoned out of the conversation and chuckled at the show I was watching.
Something fluttered from the corner of my eye, forcing my attention back onto the window, but as I transfixed my gaze back to the window, nothing was there. Shrugging it off as my imagination, I went back to watching tv, giving it my full attention. But somewhere in the back of my mind, I felt as if something was truly there and out of curiosity and a way to convince myself that I was just completely bonkers, I turned back. I wasn’t expecting to see anything but to my surprise, that wasn’t the case, whatever it was… was gleaming like a flag of dark silk, blending into the night.
Although it was nearly hidden behind the wall of the hotel balcony, part of it peeked out from behind it, freely flying in the wind. I wouldn’t have found it alarming if it weren’t for one; We were on the twelfth floor and two; It wasn’t flying away, it stayed there, stagnant within one area, like it was attached to something.
Knowing that there were possible logical reasons behind this; Like someone tying a scarf on a pole, or someone flying a kite… or even a flag. Although those reasons were logical, the flag wasn’t…for one; this flag had no color, it was pitch black and when we came up here there wasn’t any flags this close to the hotel. The scarf analogy was also tossed and although the kite one made sense, why fly one at this hour? I couldn’t help but get this sickening feeling in my gut. I got up from the bed, allowing curiosity to guid me closer to the window, like a child guiding an adult to come see what they did. Walking pass my friend and brother, I peered out through the window.
Both my brother and my friend were locked in a deep conversation, that they were too oblivious to see what was happening around them. Thinking I should just let it go and not engage in my wild fantasies, but as I found my hand already sliding the balcony door open and ignoring my guts plea to mind my business, I inched closer towards the edge of the balcony, my heart beating wildly against my chest. It must be a kite, people do strange things at night! I yelled to myself, But that thought bubble burst.
With my eyes bulging and my jaw finding its way towards the ground, all logical reasoning drifted away with the harsh breeze of the wind. There it stood, almost as tall as the building, if not, slightly taller. The scarf it adorned was actually it’s cloak, it hovered slightly above the ground in a black bubbly mist. It’s face hidden beneath the hood shrouded in a black murky mist.
